Today is Saint Patrick’s Day.

We have St. Patrick parades all over the country but how many of us know him well?

Patrick was simply an awesome man, a powerful saint! And that is because he was truly a man of God. And we could certainly use a few of him today!

Whether he expelled snakes from Ireland or not, he certainly helped the author in her snake-infested backyard in the aftermath of multiple hurricanes!

And he certainly was the saint of fire, fearlessness and miracles.

So many of us in America with Irish blood or not can claim Patrick as ours.

Here is one verse from the Breastplate Prayer.

I bind to myself today

God’s Power to guide me,
God’s Might to uphold me,
God’s Wisdom to teach me,
God’s Eye to watch over me,
God’s Ear to hear me,
God’s Word to give me speech,
God’s Hand to guide me,
God’s Way to lie before me,
God’s Shield to shelter me,
God’s Host to secure me,
Against the snares of demons,
Against the seductions of vices,
Against the lusts of nature,
Against everyone who meditates injury to me,
Whether far or near,
Whether few or with many.

When I read the full Breastplate Prayer, I understood better why Patrick was so powerful: he was a man in full connection with God.

He will be sure to protect and help you and yours in these increasingly challenging times.

Patrick feared nothing!
