St Patrick’s Breastplate prayer really works! In early adult life, i found myself in a situation where I was being persecuted and set up at my work. The person doing it had always been on good terms with me until I stopped going out with his best friend. He mistakenly thought I was all to blame, and started setting me up at work so I would get in trouble. Trying to find a solution in prayer I found comfort and protection in this prayer. I really wanted to get the guy in trouble for treating me so nastily, but I knew that wasn’t right. This prayer protected me from his tricks by exposing them without me having to say anything, and gave me the grace to not seek revenge on him. I admit, i did lose my temper and call him a name once. But I said the prayer each morning and evening, and the malice and pressure I was feeling disappeared, and was replaced with a calm needed in that storm. It was a storm that lasted months, 5 days a week. And this prayer really helped me though.
It’s a wonderful and extremely powerful prayer! St Patrick experienced all sorts of malice from some of the Irish, so I really think he knew what he was writing and how to call on God for protection!
