We have just completed a family mission held at Our Lady of Lourdes in Bayswater. It ran over five nights from Sunday to Thursday night, and what an amazing five nights it has been. The church was full every night.
I can’t remember the last time I went to a mission. I do remember going to some when I was growing up but you just don’t hear very much about them these days.
Our Missionary was Fr. Wade Menezes and he was fantastic. He is such a dynamic and gifted speaker mixing in just the right amount of humour with some very funny stories.
Every night he made some kind of reference to “the home schooling Mother of 8” and that heroic work that she is doing. Last night I made mention of this to him and he said he is such a “strong advocate of home schooling”. It’s great to know we have his support as well.
You should invite Fr Wade Menezes to your parish for a Mission. Make no bones about it, you would love it!
