Here you will find information mainly about two independent Catholic Home Education Groups in Victoria Australia. A general description of both groups can be found by clicking here. Please note that this blog is open to all home educating families. On Wednesday 6th of July Maria came to our house for a sleepover. On Thursday 7th of July Maria and I went on a trail ride at Tominbuk which is just near the Bunyip State Park. We watched the riding instructor show us a few things on her horse before we got on the horses. My horse was called Abigail and Maria’s was called Midnight. It was just us two and the two riding instructors! We had a lot of fun!!!
It was a great day and enjoyed by all. The Mini Golf was a hit (and miss!) and the kids loved the challenge of the maze. Set on top of a hill, the view was picturesque and there were plenty of tables and chairs to sit down and enjoy lunch and afternoon tea. http://tangledmaze.com.au/
The children dressed up and enacted the Way of the Cross around the grounds at Iona. This was filmed and later edited by the older children. All the children from big to little ones got to play a part in front of the camera or behind the scenes.
We were also fortunate to have Father Speekman give the children a talk on the 4 relationships broken in the Garden of Eden when Adam and Eve sinned. He demonstrated this by having the children take on the roles of God, Adam, Eve and the Devil.

Are you a homeschool parent? You’re a stay-at-home parent, working professional, or somewhere in between, who places a high value on education for your children. You want to make a difference in your child’s life but struggle with teaching science and don’t want to sell your child short.
Can you relate to any of these?
You don’t have time to teach homeschool science, but really want your kids to learn it.
Science is just not your forte.
You get frustrated when you can’t answer questions and wish you knew more about teaching science as a homeschool parent.
Your child is thirsty for more science, but you don’t know where to start.
You know you want to…
Provide your child with an amazing science education they can’t get anywhere else
Avoid spending hours learning all the material yourself?
Be able to provide your child with an exceptional homeschool science experience even though you have a limited science background or don’t have the time.
Ignite your child’s interest in science in a way that can last their entire lifetime
This is why I created Supercharged Science.
Because teaching Homeschool Science should be fun, not hard.

HEN (Home Education network) is registered with Mathletics as a school. The cost of the program for home use is usually $99 per student per year but HEN members can now access the program for $30 per student per year. Mathletics users can also elect to enrol in the Spellodrome programme at the teacher rate of $15 rather than the public rate of $50.
Our three oldest attended the last one of these camps and had a great time. One even featured in a recent edition of Otherways. It gives the kids a chance to experience life at school in the 1850’s.
It was a great camp which finished with Blood on the Southern Cross. This years will be on from Wednesday 21 to Sunday 25 September 2011.
